Happy World Nutella Day! 😀


Of course, being that this is a major holiday, we need to celebrate! I rolled out of bed, already scheming about how to incorporate the chocolatey goodness into breakfast.

I’ve been meaning to try Caitlin’s Grilled Banana Sandwich for a while so that was the logical choice…with a spoonful of Nutella spread on for good measure.

I followed her recipe, just omitted the brown sugar and added Nutella to one slice of french toast before assembling.

A sugar high is now taking place. I don’t really have any plans for the day but I’m sure we’ll think of something!

Beginning the Balance: Start your day off right. Always eat breakfast, even if it’s something small. It gets your metabolism going and boosts your energy for the day. Skipping this meal can lead to unhealthy choices later on in the day and leave you feeling sluggish. Some good options are oatmeal, eggs, yogurt and granola (try Greek yogurt which is high in protein and lower in sugar), fruit, and smoothies (add in greens to get a serving of veggies). Adding protein to your morning meal will keep you feeling full longer.
