I wanted to try something new tonight since our dinners lately have been leaving much to be desired…I mentally ran through the contents of our freezer and started searching on Tastespotting and Foodgawker, my go-to sites when looking for new recipes.
As it was getting a little late I needed something quick…these pork chops fit the bill and I had everything on hand! Score.
I’m really not a huge pork chop fan but these far exceeded my expectations! They were absolutely delicious! The brown sugar caramelizes a little and the cayenne pepper adds some subtle heat. These were a big hit and will definitely make a repeat appearance!
Glazed Pork Chops
- 4 thick-cut pork chops (I used boneless)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl combine brown sugar and all seasonings. Pat the mixture onto both sides of the pork chops (use all of the mixture as some will come off in the pan).
Heat olive oil in a medium skillet (oven-safe if you have one) over medium-high heat. Place the pork chops in the hot pan and allow to cook for about 5 minutes on each side.
If using an oven-safe skillet, place in the preheated oven and cook until done, about 5-7 minutes, depending on thickness. If your skillet is not oven-safe, transfer to a foil-lined baking sheet before placing in oven.
*If your pork chops are thin you can skip the oven altogether.
