Hi friends! Hope your day has been awesome so far!

I was dragging a bit this morning but still managed to get out the door to workout for 6. We switched it up a little and did P90X Kenpo today (rather than tomorrow). I really love this workout (kickboxing)! The moves aren’t too complicated and the pace is just right…definitely a favorite and one I would like to continue doing once we have completed the program.

I had the standard breakfast of two eggs (cage free) and toast. And a coffee at work.

Once home I threw together some tuna salad (tuna, shredded carrots, mayo, celery salt, pepper, and Garlic Gold nuggets) and ate it atop a bed of spring mix. I sprinkled some feta and walnuts on top.

With a blood orange and POM/water mix on the side. I almost always mix pomegranate juice with water (sparkling or still) since it’s so tart!

This didn’t really fill me up despite the protein and my hand kept reaching for chocolate…I decided to whip up a smoothie to supplement lunch rather than filling up on sweets!

A couple of weeks ago I received a box of goodies from Swanson Health Products to review on the blog. Included in that box was the Swanson Premium Whey Protein Powder in Vanilla.

I’ve been looking around for some protein powder so I was so excited to see this! I’ve never really used a protein supplement but really want to start, seeing as my workouts can be pretty intense sometimes!

Disclaimer: I received this product for free to review. All opinions expressed on Will Run for Food (good and bad) are completely honest and my own.

I put together a strawberry banana smoothie with frozen strawberries, frozen banana, milk, ice, and the above protein powder.

I think I needed less milk and more berries as it was a little bland. But as for the protein powder, I really liked it! I actually really couldn’t taste it but I only used about 1/2 a scoop. Next time I’ll add the whole scoop (20 grams of protein!) to hopefully get more of the vanilla flavor. I know some powders can be chalky but this blended in well. Thumbs up from me! I can’t wait to continue using it.

I also received (for free) this Naturally Fresh Foot Spray that I gave to Reid to use…he sprayed his boots a few nights in a row but it didn’t exactly work…his boots have been banished to the basement! 🙂 I probably wouldn’t purchase this myself.

Other goodies to be reviewed as I use them…

Do you use protein powder? What brand/flavor?

Hi guys! We are halfway through the week! Woot! 😀

I feel like I haven’t had the time to put much thought into my meals and they’ve been slightly boring. Sometimes I just don’t have the energy to plan meals! I really like to sit down on the weekend and write a list of meals for the week…I feel much more organized and I’m not scrambling at night for a recipe or idea! That didn’t happen this week, hence the lackluster eats.

We didn’t meet up for P90X this morning so I slept in and enjoyed a bowl of banana oats before getting ready for work. They were delicious, as always! After work I grabbed a salad and an iced coffee on my way home…laziness, again!

A chef salad with ham, turkey, cheddar, romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and croutons. I had some honey mustard on the side. I think I’ll stick with a garden salad next time…this didn’t sit well for some reason.

Southern pecan iced with milk and sugar. Best coffee ever!

After munching I ran to the grocery store…I feel like I am constantly grocery shopping lately! It’s the lack of a meal plan, I tell ya! Since I hadn’t gotten a workout in yet and it was so nice outside I decided to head out for a run once I got home…mandatory photo shoot first, though! 😉 Hurray for only two layers on top and cropped pants!

P90X is working…I think. I feel like my biceps are huge! 😉

I didn’t have much time so I set out on a speedy two mile jaunt. I was back in 18:24! Not too shabby, especially since I haven’t been out regularly.

I sipped on some POM Wonderful juice as I prepped dinner, extra ice. I thought I bought sparkling water today but turns out it was still! I was pretty bummed…I really wanted sparkling POM! So yum!

Dinner tonight was meatball subs, with sautéed garlic kale.

They were pretty good but the bread was not so we ditched it after a few bites. Breadless subs? Sure, why not! Can you believe I turned down a carb? I can’t.

This is how I’m spending the rest of the evening! Cadbury Mini Eggs! Must.control.myself. 😀

Hi friends! How’s your Tuesday coming along? I got my workout in early with P90X Core Synergistics. We will be halfway through the program at the end of this week and to be honest, I’m kind of sick of it! 🙂 Hopefully I get over it though because we have 7 weeks to go!! It’s a really great workout but I think the early mornings are getting a little old. I’m planning to treat myself to a pedicure this week to celebrate the halfway point! 😀

I had a delightful breakfast of two cage free eggs, raspberries, and olive bread. This flavor is probably my favorite out of all the ones I have tried. Yum!

Once home from work I toasted some leftover waffles that I froze from last night…homemade Eggos! 🙂 They tasted even better today, topped with raspberries and real maple syrup and served with a blood orange. They taste like…oranges! Imagine that! 😉 I’m not sure what I was expecting but I really couldn’t taste a difference.

And dinner tonight was quick and easy…just my style! I threw together a quick pesto pasta dish. Just prepare the pasta according to the box and sauté some onion and garlic in olive oil in a saucepan.

Once the onion was tender I added some of this jarred pesto and seasoned with salt and pepper.

After a minute or two I added the drained pasta and tossed to coat. Grate some parmesan cheese on top and you’re good to go!

Served with a small slice of toast for some more carby goodness. I really liked it but Reid thought it would’ve been better with some chicken or something. I’m sure fresh pesto would bring it to a whole other level!

Once again, I’m lacking veggies! I really need to grab some kale to add to dishes like the pasta for some quick green.

I finally finished off my stock of Valentine’s chocolate hearts…it’s a sad day. Time to restock!! My sweet tooth craving lately has actually been peanut butter…by the spoonful! Yup. I blame Julie at Peanut Butter Fingers! 🙂

What is your favorite sweet treat (healthy or not so much)?

Mine is definitely chocolate, though if there are cookies around they don’t last long! 🙂 For a healthy treat I love fresh fruit and usually have an apple or orange with a small piece of chocolate at night!

Hello! Happy Monday to you! 🙂

Once home from work I threw a quick lunch together before heading to the farm stand for some necessities.

Lunch: Wolfgang Puck lentil soup with some toast (the ends of the loaf).

Not very pretty but tasty!

My purchases:

Cage free eggs, kalamata olive and rosemary bread, spring mix, blood oranges, berries, and a cauliflower mix.

So excited to try the blood oranges! I’ve been wanting to try them for a while but they are usually very expensive. I heart fresh produce!! And bread! 🙂

I was still thinking about waffles from this weekend so I decided to whip some up for dinner! I used this recipe and they were super quick and easy, though I think the Waffles of Insane Greatness are better (obviously ;)). I added a little cinnamon to the batter and it was a nice element.

My plate, loaded with berries:

And Reid’s! 🙂

A delicious dinner that was thoroughly enjoyed! 😀

Enjoy your night! Mine will be an early one as after dinner I promptly fell asleep for an hour! I never really nap so my body is begging for rest!

Hi guys! Sorry that I have been missing for a few days! I was super busy so meals weren’t very creative and I’m sure you’re not very interested in seeing five posts in a row on eggs and toast for breakfast! 🙂

I woke up this morning with plans to make a special Sunday breakfast of waffles with strawberries but, alas, we were out of eggs. After that I kind of lost my ambition (the little I had) and poured a bowl of cereal instead.

I loved that it had pecan halves in it! The clusters were good but the ‘flakes’ kind of tasted like cardboard…it’ll do in a pinch!

We headed off to church and grabbed coffee on the way home. I’ve been wanting to add a fashion element to the blog so I forced Reid to snap some pictures when we got home. He was very enthusiastic about it. 😉

{the Fashion Fix}

Sweater, dress, and belt- Gap

Tights- Express

Boots- Coach (an eBay find- $35!)

I bought the sweater and dress last night, on sale. I rarely purchase anything (clothes related) at full retail! I think the dress was $28 and the sweater was $25 (tops were BOGO so it was really like $12.50!).

I had some leftovers from dinner last night so I made up a simple salad of spring mix, romaine, pecans, strawberries, feta and herbed balsamic vinaigrette…topped with salmon!

Simple and delicious! I’ll have an apple with some kind of nut butter in a little while…enjoying my coffee and the sunshine now!

Have a great day!!
