No, not this kind. Hawt.


We decided to take advantage of the amazing weather we’re having and do some grilling for dinner. Reid almost always assumes the roll of grill master and I do the prep work and stovetop cooking or baking. It’s a man thing…even if he’s grilling asparagus! Winking smile


Isn’t it beautiful? We kept it simple by tossing it with a little EVOO and sprinkling it with sea salt.


Grilled to perfection and topped with some parmesan cheese! Amazing.


Reid also pulled up some potatoes from the garden and I was in charge of boiling them. I know, it was a challenge.


Tossed with some butter, salt, and Garlic Gold nuggets…divine. There’s nothing like garden-fresh potatoes…


Grilled kielbasa joined the party and we had ourselves a meal! It came together in about 20 minutes. Hooray for teamwork!


This meal was so simple and fresh…the best kind!

I’m trying to convince Reid to walk to the ice cream stand with me…so far it’s not working…it’s probably for the best since I didn’t get to the gym today.

I headed to the gym after work for some strength training and spinning.  A quick braid has been keeping my bangs out of my sweaty face lately…the bangs might just be here to stay!


I think I played this song no less than seven times while I was there…

Go insane, go insane, throw some glitter, make it rain! Winking smile I don’t even know what to say about that video…The beat is great, though, and we warm up to it at Zumba! Puts a little pep in your step!

Any good song recommendations for working out? I need to update my playlist (clearly)!

Is there anything better than cold, juicy watermelon on a hot summer day? Apparently when it comes to cutting watermelon, I’m a little challenged.


Is there anything better than store-bought bagels and overcooked eggs? The answer is yes.

When it comes to my personal style, I pull inspiration from many sources. Whether it be other blogs (Cupcakes and Cashmere and 9 to 5 Chic are my favorites right now) websites (, magazines (People Style Watch is one of my favorites), or random people on the street, I love seeing different trends and outfit combos, and how people dress to compliment their body type.

I feel like how we dress is another form of expressing our creativity and I love coming up with different outfits, usually using some of the same pieces.


I like to think my style runs towards classic with a twist. I love finding pieces that I can wear for years, but also like to throw in a trendy item here and there. Some things I’m loving right now are loose button-ups, thin cardigans, dark skinny jeans, gold accessories, cuffed denim, stripes, and wedges.

When it comes to celebrities, I think I pull the most inspiration from Reese Witherspoon. She always looks so chic, wearing mostly classic and timeless pieces, yet even when following trends always looks so effortless and beautiful. My bangs were even inspired by one of her hairstyles!

I love a bargain and normally won’t buy anything for full price. I do splurge a bit on designer denim but usually make up for it by being frugal in other areas. I am more likely to spend a bit more on something that I will wear for a while (like jeans and handbags) than something that may be ‘out’ by the end of the month. I don’t always follow trends but when I do, I tend to look to stores like Forever 21 since they are usually cheap enough to warrant only a few wears of a certain trendy item. Thrift stores are great too!

I have to remind myself sometimes that even if I like the look of something, I need to stay true to my body type. One example: rompers. I love them and think they look great on others but they do nothing to compliment my thighs. 🙂 If I’m not confident in an outfit, it definitely shows…and it’s not worth it!

Hi friends! Hope your week is off to a good start!

It was a scorcher today and after work I stopped by my parents house to sit by the pool for a bit. I didn’t last long! I just so happened to grab a stack of books while I was there too…


Bad news bears. Most of them are older and I’ve read them before (maybe multiple times) but it’s been a few years at least. Does anyone else like to read as much as I do? So glad my mom does! 🙂

I had a few errands to run after the pool, including grocery shopping. Ick. For some reason I just dread going…and you would think I would love it! It gave me a headache that I still have…

I decided to stick to a quick (and oven-less) dinner and bought some dough to make grilled pizza. Store-bought dough is my best friend these days!


Our ingredient tray, loaded with mozzarella and parmesan cheese, diced tomatoes for sauce, toppings (ham and veggies that I quickly stir fried), olive oil, salt and utensils.




Cheesy deliciousness. We didn’t cook them enough but they were still good.



I think I could eat this for dinner every night! I ate half of the veggie pizza and saved the rest for lunch tomorrow.

Well, I’m off to watch The Bachelorette (even though it’s annoying lately)…I picked up some strawberries today so I’ll probably have some for dessert…and maybe a cookie. 🙂

Hi guys! Hope you’re enjoying our weekend!

It’s been pretty chill over here…I made it to the gym yesterday afternoon and got a killer workout in…elliptical warm-up, 45 minutes of full-body strength, and 25 minutes on the bike! I’m really enjoying spinning right now…fun stuff!

We hung out for the rest of the night and Reid even made dinner!


He grilled up some veggies (potatoes from our garden!), in foil pouches, and some pre-marinated steak tips. The veggies were incredible…he should do this more often! 😉

After church this morning we had to get my rings inspected and stopped at a little hotdog stand on the way for lunch, no pictures but it was really good, with homemade rolls and beans!

Other eats from today…oatmeal for dinner and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!



The cookies are pretty amazing and may not survive the night. 🙂 Can we pretend that they’re packed with veggies?

I’m off to finish up my fourth book of the week! I have issues.
