Hi guys! Hope you’re enjoying our weekend!

It’s been pretty chill over here…I made it to the gym yesterday afternoon and got a killer workout in…elliptical warm-up, 45 minutes of full-body strength, and 25 minutes on the bike! I’m really enjoying spinning right now…fun stuff!

We hung out for the rest of the night and Reid even made dinner!

He grilled up some veggies (potatoes from our garden!), in foil pouches, and some pre-marinated steak tips. The veggies were incredible…he should do this more often! 😉

After church this morning we had to get my rings inspected and stopped at a little hotdog stand on the way for lunch, no pictures but it was really good, with homemade rolls and beans!

Other eats from today…oatmeal for dinner and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!

The cookies are pretty amazing and may not survive the night. 🙂 Can we pretend that they’re packed with veggies?

I’m off to finish up my fourth book of the week! I have issues.

This week is just zooming by! Can’t believe it’s already Thursday…

Hope you’re having a good week! I had a hair appointment right after work yesterday and didn’t get home until later…so dinner was rushed and easy, eggs, toast, and watermelon!

I’m a little on the fence about my new bangs…I always want them but then they get annoying very fast and I regret cutting them…we’ll see how long these last before I’m trying to pin them back. Smile

I’ll post a better picture sometime when I actually style them…the rest of the cut was just a trim, with some fresh color all over.

Breakfast was grabbed on the go from Dunkin Donuts…an iced coffee and an egg and cheese bagel. Attempting to style new bangs=almost late for work.

It was a short day so once home I tried to decide on something for lunch. I wasn’t super hungry so I made another boring bowl of oatmeal. Same as the last few times so I won’t bore you with the details.

A peach on the side, but I only took a few bites because it wasn’t very juicy. Yuck!

I’m really excited now for two reasons…

I just ordered a laptop, finally! It’s an anniversary present from Reid (it’s on Monday). I just love it him! Open-mouthed smile

Yup, it’s flowered. Because I can. Won’t Reid look cute using this when traveling? I thought so too. Winking smile 

It’s a refurb (it’s not available new anymore) and I’m a little nervous about that but the reviews and specs are pretty good…hopefully it won’t be a lemon! Hurry up and get here!

Have you ever bought any refurbished electronics? Any problems?

Oh, and the second reason why I’m really excited is because I’m trying out my first Zumba class later!! Yippee! Hopefully I survive. I’m kind of nervous too…

Hi friends! Happy Saturday! For some reason Reid and I both woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday…

I slept in a bit and rolled out of bed around 9…it felt great! Not that I wake up very early during the week but it’s still nice not using an alarm clock.

I snacked on a bunch of strawberries while I made a bowl of oatmeal…it was the same as earlier in the week, banana oats loaded with walnuts and pb chips!

Reid picked me up an iced coffee while I was busy cleaning…what a dear!

Dunkin’s coffee is either a hit or miss and this was a huge hit! It was surprisingly delicious. Dark roast with milk and sugar. I could go for another.

As mentioned, my morning was taken up by lots of cleaning. I scrubbed the house from top to bottom…it feels so good! I think that counts as cardio, don’t you?

After I was done I went out to “help” Reid in the garden. Helping consists of sitting in the grass, taking pictures, and complaining about the bugs, if you must know.

We expanded our garden but also got rid of the smaller one closer to the house…we’ll just do one this year. Can’t wait for fresh veggies and herbs! We’ll have plenty to share too.

Reid took a break from planting to run to the thrift store with me to get a dresser that I’ve been eyeing. It was only $75 and I love it! It’ll live in our laundry room and hold Reid’s work clothes for now.

Do you have a vegetable garden? What do you normally plant?

This is our second year planting a garden. Once completed it will consist of potatoes, tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, onions, bell peppers, kale, various herbs, and probably lots more that I can’t think of.

And by old friend, I mean oatmeal. Whipped banana oats, to be exact.

Anyway, I clearly have issues but we’ll talk about that later (or not). Nothing sounded good for dinner tonight until I spotted the jar of oats on the counter. Problem solved. I haven’t had a nice, hot bowl of oats in ages and it hit the spot. So good!

In the pot:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fat free milk
  • 1/2 banana, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • a dash of vanilla
  • a pinch of salt
  • topped with some walnuts and peanut butter chips (best.topping.ever)

This may have been the best bowl yet…the peanut butter chips were amazing!! Especially after they melted a little…

Enjoyed with some gorgeous strawberries on the side. I can’t wait to pick my own!

I’ve been in a real exercise rut lately, which I blame on the dreary weather. I set my alarm for an early gym workout this morning but found the snooze button a few too many times. I can definitely notice the lack of exercise in my energy levels and I need to get with the program…no more excuses! I would really like to try a kickboxing class to mix things up so hopefully I can get to one soon.

I’ve only been to one and it was a while ago…I was a little intimated and the class was packed so it wasn’t very enjoyable. The gym I go to now isn’t very busy so I don’t think it would be so bad. I loved the P90X Kenpo workout so I definitely want to try one!

Hi friends! I have the day off of work for Good Friday so I’m getting some things done around the house before we head to a church service at 2:00.

I woke up not feeling the best and figured a warm bowl of oats would make things better. I made the standard banana oats (1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup milk, pinch of salt, dash of vanilla, 1/2 banana and a tablespoon of chia seeds) and topped them with some walnuts and a new topping…Biscoff spread (like the cookies)!

I saw this at the grocery store and had to grab some… and it’s actually amazing. I keep finding myself with my fingers in the jar. 🙂 Definitely won’t keep this stuff around too much. While it’s great on it’s own, I really didn’t like it on my oatmeal. It was just off for some reason.
