Hi friends! Hope you’re having a great week!!

Yesterday was extremely productive! It felt so good to get so much done. I cleaned the house, top to bottom, and even got a quick run in before dinner.

Still loving my Lulus…

I ran 3 miles in 30:46 and felt great. Runs like this are why I love running! Though the tough ones are good too…

Once home I started on dinner…glazed pork chops with garlic parmesan quinoa and a fresh veggie plate to share (made by Reid…thanks, dear!). If you haven’t tried these pork chops yet, you should. So good!! The quinoa wasn’t all that great so I’m not going to share the recipe.

Very summery and delicious.

I worked from 9-3 today and packed breakfast and lunch:

  • low-fat cottage cheese, pineapple chunks (canned), and an iced coffee
  • a chopped salad with green peppers, tomatoes and avocado, topped with leftover pork, warmed and diced…holy yum. It was gone much too fast.

I stopped at the grocery store on my way home and treated myself to some flowers! Definitely making me smile today, though I’m not much of a florist…

And on a random fashion note, I’m kind of obsessed with this gold watch that I picked up at Aldo Accessories a few weeks ago…it goes perfectly with what I have in mind for Fall!

Ah, Fall…I can’t wait for apples, cooler weather, boots, pumpkin…I could go on and on!

Favorite part of autumn?

Hi guys! I felt much better this morning so that started my day off on the right foot! I had an alarm set for 6:00 for an early run but we all know that I just do that to humor myself… Smile I grabbed a bagel with a little cream cheese and an iced coffee and headed off to work.

I packed leftovers from last night’s dinner for lunch…baked chicken strips with rice pilaf and broccoli (photo from last night). I made a creamy mustard sauce to go on top but it wasn’t what I was expecting and we didn’t really eat it. Experiments don’t always work but that’s okay! Before breading the chicken I dipped it into a mixture of butter, spicy brown mustard, white wine, and garlic. the chicken was pretty good on it’s own and didn’t really need a sauce anyway. Winking smile

I tweeted earlier that I was going to go for a run and it was going to be awesome…I couldn’t back out after that!! Once home from work I suited up and hit the pavement.

Well, It wasn’t as amazing as I would have liked but I still got 4 miles in…I’m declaring that this week is going to be a turning point in my training and it can only get better! I’m excited to start crossing training runs off of my schedule.

Positive thinking rules!

I was a little shaky when I got home so I sipped on some Gatorade for some quick carbs. I stretched out and hit the showers to rinse off…which is kind of a new concept for me! I’ve only just recently recognized the fact that I don’t need to wash my hair every time I shower! Since I shower before work, a quick rinse post run does the trick and feels amazing. Liberating… Open-mouthed smile

Today I was rocking some new gear…my first Lululemon purchase!

I bought the Groove shorts after seeing them on Ashley of Healthy Happier Bear. I’ve been looking for shorts that won’t ride up on my large strong thighs and these looked hopeful because of the longer inseam.

The verdict? I love them! I was very hesitant to buy them because of the price but I already know it was worth it. No tugging at all! Yay! I may need to add a few more pairs to my stash…eventually.

Dinner consisted of burgers, chips and watermelon. I need to go grocery shopping in the worst way…

Have a good night!!

Any Lululemon favorites?

Hi guys! Hope you’re having a good day!

I slept in a little this morning since, as I tweeted last night, I was vacuuming and mopping at 9:30 pm! That’s what a late night (8:00) coffee will do to you! Smile Not that it was a bad thing but I didn’t get to bed until after midnight.

I decided to do a little shopping today so I showered right after I got up and headed out, grabbing a bagel and coffee from Dunkin Donuts on my way. We are really low on groceries so nothing in my kitchen sounded good.

I dropped off a huge bag of clothes at a consignment shop and had a return at TJ Maxx and a gift card to Target so those were my stops. We are on a strict budget lately so I was trying not to spend any money…almost made it! Winking smile

My TJ’s finds…I spent $25 but it was store credit.

Bowls!! Aren’t they cute? Only a food blogger would buy random dishes…I’m in love with them.

I also picked up a bamboo cutting board and little white tray-like plate.

At Target I had a gift card but did end up spending a little over ($30)…not bad for everything I got!

A rug to go right inside our front door…we need something really flat since the door is really low. This one is going back. It just looks really cheap (and it was…only $12.99). I think it ‘s the edges that do it…oh well!

A new bathing suit…I pieced it together since they didn’t have anymore bottoms to go with the top. The white and gold ones were on the sale rack for $10. I have some other bottoms that I’m planning on wearing with the top as well (hot pink, off-white, gray striped). It’s so versatile and flattering!

Workout clothes…finally! I was in desperate need. Two tanks and a skirt (with shorts underneath). I was a little on the fence about the skirt but it is so comfy! It’s for running but I’ll probably wear it to Zumba. Lots of gray!

And I definitely just had to look up gray vs. grey because I couldn’t remember which one was right…well, they both are! Open-mouthed smile

And last but not least, this metal vase…

It’s actually a lantern (you put a candle in it) but the bottom is missing so it was on sale for $7.49 (from $29.99).

Score! I’ll probably buy some silk flowers for it at some point.

Whew! Quite the haul, and mostly “free”!

I was planning to use the leftover quinoa from last night but wasn’t all that hungry…instead I made sunflower seed butter and raspberry jam toast.

Does someone what to go grocery shopping for me?? Please? Smile

And fun purchases/deals lately?

When it comes to my personal style, I pull inspiration from many sources. Whether it be other blogs (Cupcakes and Cashmere and 9 to 5 Chic are my favorites right now) websites (, magazines (People Style Watch is one of my favorites), or random people on the street, I love seeing different trends and outfit combos, and how people dress to compliment their body type.

I feel like how we dress is another form of expressing our creativity and I love coming up with different outfits, usually using some of the same pieces.

I like to think my style runs towards classic with a twist. I love finding pieces that I can wear for years, but also like to throw in a trendy item here and there. Some things I’m loving right now are loose button-ups, thin cardigans, dark skinny jeans, gold accessories, cuffed denim, stripes, and wedges.

When it comes to celebrities, I think I pull the most inspiration from Reese Witherspoon. She always looks so chic, wearing mostly classic and timeless pieces, yet even when following trends always looks so effortless and beautiful. My bangs were even inspired by one of her hairstyles!

I love a bargain and normally won’t buy anything for full price. I do splurge a bit on designer denim but usually make up for it by being frugal in other areas. I am more likely to spend a bit more on something that I will wear for a while (like jeans and handbags) than something that may be ‘out’ by the end of the month. I don’t always follow trends but when I do, I tend to look to stores like Forever 21 since they are usually cheap enough to warrant only a few wears of a certain trendy item. Thrift stores are great too!

Faux Fur Vest from Forever 21 (last year)

I have to remind myself sometimes that even if I like the look of something, I need to stay true to my body type. One example: rompers. I love them and think they look great on others but they do nothing to compliment my thighs. 🙂 If I’m not confident in an outfit, it definitely shows…and it’s not worth it!

Do you have a celebrity style inspiration? Are there any trends that you shy away from?

Happy Saturday!! It’s rainy and dreary over here, but that’s ok…

Last night I went with my parents and my younger sister to do some shopping and dining. We ended up going to the Natick Collection (in Natick, MA). For dinner we stopped into Met Bar & Grill for some gourmet burgers. They have a whole menu devoted to burgers (with another menu with lots of other options but I didn’t even get a chance to look at it).

To start, we ordered the spinach artichoke flatbread, which was really good. I may just order this and a salad next time! I forgot both my SLR and point and shoot at home so phone pics will have to do.

I had two slices.

For my entree I ordered a beef burger with pepper jack cheese, arugula, mushrooms, and roasted garlic aioli (I think they forgot it though) on a whole wheat bun. The burgers were really thick and a little hard to eat. Mine was a little dry too. It came with a side of mayo (ick) and I ended up using a little to make up for the missing aioli. The french fries were delicious though! 🙂

I think I’m coming to realize that I just don’t really like red meat in general. They have a salmon burger and a veggie burger that I would like to try though.

We did a bit of shopping afterwards…I picked up a few shirts but may be returning two of them. We grabbed some yogurt from Red Mango before heading out. It was a fun evening!

This morning has been relaxing with a trip to the nail salon for a mani/pedi and a stop at the farm stand on my way home. We were out of bread, milk, and fruit so it was much needed!

Red grapes (organic), watermelon, cantaloupe (o), an avacado (o), minced garlic (o), garlic and herb goat cheese, cherry tomatoes…

Spinach, shredded carrots, strawberries, fat-free milk (o)…

Sunflower butter, Honest Ade lemonade, a pb cookie (the best ever), and kalamata olive and rosemary bread (hello again!).

I also picked up a NH made t-shirt made with organic cotton since they were all on sale and I have a shopping problem. It’s really soft!

I’m enjoying an iced coffee and will make some lunch soon…probably using every last thing that I bought! 🙂

Lilacism by Essie…I’m kind of on the fence about it.

Are you a hot or iced coffee drinker?

Obviously, I am strictly an iced coffee drinker. I don’t really enjoy hot beverages of any kind, even in the winter! I’ll have an occasional cup of hot tea but that’s about it.

I'm Ashley. Wife and new mom. Lover of food, running, baking, strength training, fashion, iced coffee, interior design, and photography. Welcome to Will Run for Food, where I document bits of all of the above (and more)! Thanks for stopping by!

I’d love to hear from you!
